Curriculum
The ethos of our curriculum at Burstead Bears Day Nursery is that learning can be fun. We aim to encourage the children to build strong relationships, become independent, increase their span of concentration and gain self-esteem.
We plan a curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage that will challenge children with learning experiences such as writing and recognising their name, making a head start with reading and simple number work, while at the same time acquiring social skills. This will help your child progress towards the level of achievement the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance sets for children before they start primary education.
As soon as children are born they thrive on learning about the world around them. As they grow their ability to learn grows with them. Although children below three years of age are not formally assessed, the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum provides children with opportunities to broaden their learning abilities. The day nursery in Essex aims to promote all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum to children from an early age.
The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance divides children’s learning and development into 7 areas:
Burstead Bears Day Nursery provides an education for children who learn through play, covering all the areas stated above.
